Destin Beaches

Destin's beaches are in Okaloosa County in northwest Florida along the Gulf of Mexico. Destin is to the east of Fort Walton Beach and to the west of Sandestin in Walton County. Destin is on the end of a long peninsula which is connected to land on the east and sticks out into. On the north it is bounded by Choctawhatchee Bay and on the south by the Gulf of Mexico.

Access to Destin is usually through the east-west running of US Hwy 98/Florida 30 and the MidBay Bridge heading south on Florida highway 298 across Choctawhatchee Bay. Within Destin, US Hwy 98 has been titled Harbor Boulevard.

Henderson Beach State Park is just east of Destin and has over a mile of shoreline along the Gulf Coast.

Online maps now allow you to select satellite view which then may allow you to select street views which allow you to navigate down streets as well as possibly off-road interests such as the beachfront where you can get a feel for how the beaches and beach surroundings look.
